The Interdisciplinary Major Program

Application Checklist

  • A written proposal with name of interdisciplinary major, focus, and justification
  • List of courses (must include more courses than are actually required)
  • List of requirements for this major at another institution (if available)
  • Signed letters of approval by faculty advisors from at least two departments, one of whom must agree to be the primary adviser and direct the senior project
  • Signatures of chairs of departments in which major courses will be taken

Applications (sent to Barry Maine, Chair of The Open Curriculum Committee, Department of English) are due, if possible, by February 15 of the student’s sophomore year.
