“Where Are You From?” Website to Launch October 17

Posted on: October 15, 2012

The Where Are You From? Project website launch is this Wednesday, October 17, 5 PM-8 PM, at World Relief, 2029 North Centennial Street, High Point, NC.

The Where Are You From? (WAYF) Project is a collection of interviews with students, faculty, staff members at Wake Forest University and residents in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, and the surrounding community. The interviews are about stories of mobility and migration from new and long-term residents, immigrants, and US citizens.

The WAYF interviews are available now on our YouTube Channel, but on October 17, we will launch our new website: http://whereareyoufromproject.org/

Please join us this Wednesday, October 17, at 5 PM for an international dinner, live music, a discussion panel on mobility and immigration featuring scholars and community members, and the introduction of our new website.

This project is made possible in part by funding from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The event is free and open to the public.

Join the event on Facebook or email Alessandra Von Burg for more information.
