Caroline Watson: WFU Anthropology’s Outstanding Senior, 2017

Watson WFU Anthropology Most Outstanding SeniorEach year, the Wake Forest University Anthropology Department recognizes an Outstanding Senior who has achieved highly in the classroom and who has also engaged in fieldwork, research, and in the community. In 2017, we have given the award of Outstanding Senior to Caroline Watson.

According to her honors thesis advisor, Eric Jones, “Caroline has been an exemplar in all these categories, performing brilliantly in the classroom, participating in two separate archaeological field programs, serving as a research assistant on an NSF-sponsored project, completing an impressive honors thesis, and being a fixture in the community during her four years here, working with the Anthropology Club, afterschool programs and with Habitat for Humanity.”

Caroline’s Honors Thesis was entitled, “Non-local vs. Local Lithic Trends in the Late Woodland Upper Yadkin River Valley: Counts, Proportions and Implications for Economic Structure”
