A. Lewis Aycock Visual Resources Center and Print Collection

Located in Scales Fine Arts Center Room 110, the Visual Resources Center is a reference collection of digital images, slides, art books, journals, videos, and DVDs.

The image collection consists of over 200,000 images of art and architecture from prehistoric times to the present day. These materials are used not only by the art history and studio faculty and students, but also by other faculty and visiting lecturers in all disciplines, especially literature, religion, world history, civilization, and languages.

MDID Database of Digital Images

Our MDID Database of Digital Images can be accessed by anyone with a WFU login, from anywhere in the world. This is a growing collection of high quality images used for study and classroom teaching. Its art, architecture, civilization, historical, and cultural images complement undergraduate lectures and enhance the study of the humanities.

Wake Forest Print and Photography Collection

The Wake Forest Print and Photography Collection is housed here and can also be viewed online. The collection represents a wide range of cultures and styles from 15th century hand-lettered illuminated manuscripts and early Renaissance engravings to modern silkscreens, digital photographs, and hand printed books.

DVD-VHS Collection

The DVD-VHS Collection focuses on art and architecture from ancient civilizations to digital and performance art. Circulation is restricted to the art department, or by special arrangement. Students and others are welcome to bring their laptops to view CDs-DVDs in the Visual Resources Center during office hours.
