Faculty member’s art featured at the North Carolina Museum of Art
Wake Forest College offers students the opportunity to interact closely with our faculty, who are nationally and internationally known scholars and artists. This national and international recognition comes in many forms. In a few days, the work of one of our studio arts faculty, Page Laughlin (Art Department) will be featured at the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) in Raleigh.
The exhibit, which runs from February 10-July 28 and is entitled “Dwelling: Interiors,” features the work of both Page H. Laughlin and Pamela Pecchio. This exhibit offers viewers the opportunity to compare these artists’ explorations of interior spaces in photographs and paintings. Comparing the recent work of these artists reveals similar themes, though the artists are work in different mediums.
Lucky students have the opportunity to learn from this artist in the College’s studio art classes. Page teaches a number of classes, including several courses in painting.
And here’s an opportunity for you! Anyone living in the Raleigh -Durham area has the opportunity to meet Page and Pamela, as the exhibit opens with an Art in the Evening: Meet the Artists event. If you are in the area, please stop by North Carolina Gallery, East Building, NCMA 6:30-7:30 pm during Art in the Evening, February 8th for a sneak peek of Dwelling.
