Alec Christian, a junior from Salem, Conn., who studies organic chemistry, was recently awarded a Goldwater Scholarship. Christian was selected as one of 271 math, science and engineering students from around the country to receive the award for the 2013-2014 school year. Click Here to read more.
Congratulations to Patricia Dos Santos, who has been awarded a Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation Faculty Fellowship (July 1, 2013 ‐ June 30, 2015) from the college, in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments as a teacher‐scholar.

Congratulations to student members of our department: undergraduate Alec Christian was awarded the prestigious national Barry S Goldwater Scholarship for 2013, and graduate student Bruna Selbach received the 1st place award for her poster in the Basic Science division at the WFU Graduate Student Research Day.
