RESEARCH INTEREST

Crisis Negotiations, Communication of Terrorism and Counter-terrorism. Professor Rogan’s research program is two-fold. Traditionally, his work has been in forensic discourse analysis of crisis negotiations and author identification. Dr. Rogan’s research focuses on the communication-based analysis of the discourse of jihadism, with particular attention to the jurisprudence and ideology for jihad against democracy. He recently received Top Paper award for one such study from the Eastern Communication Association and has also an been an invited speaker at the World Summit for Counter-terrorism in Israel.
