Counseling Experience

I have worked as a counselor in both private and public agencies—serving clients of all ages, from various cultural backgrounds, with a broad range of relational, personal, and psychological issues.  My primary focus has been counseling with children, families, and couples although I also have done a good bit of both group counseling and individual counseling, including counseling with women dealing with self-esteem issues, depression, and anxiety.  As a full-time counselor educator, mother, and wife, I don’t counsel today on a full-time basis but still counsel when time permits.  As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, I also supervise a small number of Licensed Professional Counseling Associates.  Of the many theories I integrate into my counseling and supervision, I most enjoy Adlerian, Existential, and Narrative theories.

Personal:

I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children, attending sports events and concerts, watching the Andy Griffith Show, listening to 80s music, organizing anything that needs to be organized, and eating just about anything (especially Southern comfort foods).
