Wake Forest University announces the launch of its first online degree programs – the online Master of Arts in Counseling and online Master of Arts in Human Services. These programs prepare students for rewarding careers in clinical mental health and school counseling, as well as nonprofit and human services administration. Starting in Fall 2012, students will have the opportunity to learn from some of the most recognized scholars and professional leaders in the counseling profession and be a part of one of the world’s well-respected masters-level counseling programs.

These distinguished programs are tailored for working professionals who seek to carry out their desire to serve the needs of their communities and foster the well-being of society.  The online Master of Arts in Counseling program can be completed in 60 credit hours of rigorous online study, while the online Master of Arts in Human Services can be completed in 39 credit hours.

Accredited by the Council of Accreditation for Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Commission on Colleges (COC) of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Wake Forest online Master of Arts in Counseling program allows its graduates to become eligible to take the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE) which leads to certification as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).  Graduates of the online Master of Arts in Human Services program are eligible for the Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BSP) credential.
