Online Campus Residencies

Two Thursday night through Sunday at noon residency experiences are required for Online Campus students. These face-to-face sessions will allow faculty to engage in competency and readiness evaluations as well as to plan and evaluate field experience (human services) or practicum and internship (counseling) arrangements. Students will also complete the experiential group requirements at this time. Dates will be announced six months in advance. You will get to know your instructors and the students you have previously only met online. Classes will be held on campus.

The meetings scheduled for Thursday night and for Sunday morning will be held at the Graylyn International Conference Center, an amazing facility within a mile of campus.

The Department of Counseling has been granted very special rates for our online students at the Graylyn Conference Center. A limited number of rooms are available on a first-come basis. The rates include a full buffet breakfast for each person plus 24 hour coffee/tea and ice cream access. Under our agreement with Graylyn, we cannot publicize the rates. Interested online students should contact Pamela Karr at Karrpr@wfu.edu for the rates and registration information including the block number.

We urge you to book early to guarantee your space. The deadline for reserving rooms at the special rate is three months prior to the residency itself (on Feb 9, 2013 for the May 2013 residency). At that point the remaining rooms are released for other visitors. You may inquire about availability after that date but it is better to act early if you really want to stay there. Take a look and we bet you will. What a treat!

To book a room, please call reservations at (336) 758-2425 Monday-Friday 7:00am-6pm. You may also book online.

  1. Go to www.Graylyn.com
  2. Select ‘Guestrooms’
  3. Select ‘Make a Reservation’
  4. Select ‘Meeting and Wedding Reservations’
  5. Enter your Block Code (company is not needed) — This information is available through the Department of Counseling.

Itinerary: More specific information regarding agenda and assignments will be sent closer to the date.
