Christa Colyer joined the faculty at Wake Forest University in 1997 after having completed her B.Sc. at Trent University (Peterborough, Canada), her M.Sc. at the University of Guelph (Guelph, Canada), her Ph.D. at Queen’s University (Kingston, Canada), and an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada). As Professor of Chemistry at Wake Forest, Colyer has developed an externally funded research program in analytical chemistry involving undergraduate and graduate research students, focusing on separation science and trace bioanalyte detection. She has directed summer study-abroad at the Worrell House and is engaged in teaching from the First Year Seminar program through to graduate classes in chemical analysis. Colyer served as Chemistry Department Chair from 2006-2014, and is the recent recipient of Wake Forest University awards for Innovation in Teaching and Excellence in Advising.
