Rick Matthews, Professor of Physics and Director of Academic and Instructional Technology, has been at Wake Forest since 1979. He has served as faculty and chair in the Department of Physics. He also served the university as Associate Provost, as Chief Information Officer, and as Associate Provost for Technology and Information Systems. He teaches a wide range of physics courses. His research is in computational condensed matter physics. As Director of Academic and Instructional Technology, he leads, represents, and enables faculty in adopting new technologies, while promoting Wake Forest as a leader in technology-enhanced education.
