Amanda Fierle (’15) is an Economics major with a minor in Psychology. She first became interested in Economics after taking Introduction to Economics with Professor McFall her freshman year. While taking Applied Econometrics, she conducted a research paper in which she identified a model that best predicted the likelihood of achieving success as a wide receiver in the N.F.L. This research paper was the capstone to the class and is what first sparked her interest in sports analytics. At Wake, Amanda is a co-founder and member of the Sports Analytics Club, Lacrosse Club member, and Students Helping Honduras. She studied abroad in Vienna, Austria where she was able to study the language and culture. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in sports analytics, working for an N.F.L. team.
