Amy Allen Receives Teacher of the Year Award from Cedar Ridge High School

Amy Allen (MTF, 2009) was awarded the Teacher of the Year award at Cedar Ridge High School, where she teaches Spanish, and is the chair of the World Languages department. Within four years of graduating from the Wake Forest Department of Education’s Master Teacher Fellows program, Amy has become the chair of the World Languages department and has taught Spanish 1, 2, 3, 4 IB (International Baccalaureate).

The Teacher of the Year award at Cedar Ridge High School is based on these criteria:

  1. One who promotes excellence in teaching, is creative/innovative, and is committed to children, teaching and learning.
  2. One who continues to grow as a professional educator.
  3. One who is committed to the community through their support and participation in service-oriented activities.
