Students Present at NC English Teachers Association Conference

On Friday, September 28th, secondary English education undergraduate and graduate students from the Department of Education presented at a featured session entitled “Teaching the Best Young Adult Fiction of 2011/2012” at the annual conference of the North Carolina English Teachers’ Association (NCETA) in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Under the guidance of Dr. Alan Brown, students presented to a large crowd and received rave reviews as they connected young adult literature to classic texts, nonfiction titles, multimodal literacies, and other academic content areas.  Joan Mitchell, a former visiting professor in WFU’s Department of Education, served as the keynote speaker while Dr. Joseph Milner served as the reactant for the session.
