Careers in English

Our majors and minors pursue careers in a wide variety of fields and professions.  The English Students Association maintains a blog [1] and a Facebook group [2] to allow current students to network with recent graduates.  The ESA also holds a Career Day every year to expose current students to job possibilities for English majors.

We encourage students interested in applying to graduate programs (MA and/or Ph.D) in English to read this advice [3] written by Dr. L. Kip Wheeler, an English professor at Carson-Newman College. Students may also consult Dr. Eric Wilson [4], director of our MA program, for general advice about graduate programs in English.
