Deborah Cohen is the Peter B. Ritzma Professor of the Humanities and Charles Deering McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence at Northwestern University. She is an historian of Modern Britain and the author of three prize-winning books, including Family Secrets: Shame and Privacy in Modern Britain  (2013). The title of her talk is “Queer Uncles: Homosexuality and the Family in Modern Britain.” This lecture is co-sponsored by the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and the Department of English.
