Assistant Teaching Professor, Classical Languages
Dr. Warren is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Classical Languages and a core faculty member in Interdisciplinary Humanities. He teaches courses in Latin as well as in translated study of classical and medieval philosophical works. He received his B.A in Literature from Yale in 1990 and his Ph.D. in Classics from Johns Hopkins in 2002. Before coming to Wake Forest, Brian was a Lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis and an Assistant Professor at Rhodes College. His research primarily concerns Greek History, especially Thucydides. He has taught lower- and upper-division courses in Latin and Ancient Greek language. In addition, he has taught a wide-variety of courses on Ancient Greek and Roman literature and history, including Age of Alexander, Roman Satire, Athenian Democracy in the Age of Pericles, and Greek Mythology.
