During the upgrade, Sakai will be unavailable for one working day. All existing course and project sites and their content will be retained. The new version of Sakai will provide increased functionality, including improved Profile and Assignments tools, an enhanced content editor with increased math capabilities, and a choice of Gradebooks. The new Assignments tool better integrates with the Gradebook and the additional Gradebook tool allows lowest grades to be dropped from a category and gives the option of an extra credit feature.
More information about the upgrade details, improvements, new features, and learning opportunities will be forthcoming. We are sending this information now to help you plan for the upcoming semester.

Turnitin integration with Sakai has been delayed until 2012. While this integration was originally part of our upgrade to 2.7.1, we had significant technical issues that threatened our upgrade timeline. Information Systems and the Sakai Team will continue to work on the Turnitin integration this fall and expect to be able provide that functionality in Sakai in Spring 2012.
Please see the Help page for details and print screens of the many improvements in our new version of Sakai.]]>
