The Latin American and Latino Studies Program is pleased to announce a new grant scholarship, the Chauvenet Award.

The purpose of the Chauvenet Award is to provide a competitive grant for a summer abroad research project to a student minoring in Latin American and Latino Studies.   The recipient must meet the standards established by Wake Forest to be considered a full-time student, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, have completed at least four semesters at Wake Forest, prepare a budget to justify the amount of money requested from the Fund, and provide evidence of language proficiency.  The recipient will be selected by a Latin American and Latino Studies faculty committee.

The LALS department wants to thank the donors of the Chauvenet Fund, Dr. Allen Chauvenet and Dr. Julia Cruz, for their generous donation and support of undergraduate students minoring in Latin American and Latino Studies who desire to expand their education by researching abroad in Latin America.
