Information for Prospective New Tutors

All tutor positions for Fall 2017 have been filled.  Applications for Spring 2018 will be available in early January 2018.  Please check back at that time if you are interested in applying for Spring 2018.

  • Undergraduate or graduate students at Wake Forest University are eligible to apply for the position of tutor in The Math Center.
  • Undergraduate applicants must have attended Wake Forest University for at least 1 academic year and must have completed at least two mathematics courses at Wake Forest University with a grade of B or higher.
  • Applicants who are hired as tutors will be expected to attend Math Center tutor training events throughout the semester.
  • Priority will be given to students who:
    • Have declared  a major or minor offered through the mathematics and statistics department
    • Are qualified to tutor in multiple math courses
    • Have completed multiple courses in mathematics and statistics at Wake Forest
    • Demonstrate Strong oral & written communication skills
    • Receive the strongest recommendations from Mathematics and Statistics Department faculty
    • Have a record of strong performance in Math Center tutoring and strong attendance and Math Center training events from previous semesters
  • Applicants may be contacted for an in person interview
  • Applicants should submit a completed application to The Math Center – applications are located online below.
  • Applicants should consult The Math Center operating hours and note on their application if they are unavailable for any of those hours.

Tutor Application
