Just back from a semester teaching at Casa Artom in Venice, Peter Kairoff will open the spring semester concert season with a trio program for piano and strings, with guest artists Adam Carter, cello, and Jeannette Jang, violin.
They will be performing masterpieces of the chamber music repertory by Haydn, Beethoven and Brahms. The program will include the rollicking “Gypsy” trio in G-major for piano and strings by Haydn, the lyrical Sonata in A-major for cello and piano by Beethoven, and the monumental and expressive trio in C-major by Brahms. Adam Carter teaches cello at the University of Virginia, and Jeannette Jang has served as concert master and soloist of the New World Symphony among many other orchestras. Peter Kairoff is Professor of Music at WFU, where he has taught since 1988. Admission is free and open to the public.
