Music Department to recruit an Ethnomusicologist to Faculty

The Department of Music at Wake Forest University invites applications for a tenure-track position in ethnomusicology, with specialization in the music of Asia, Africa, or the Middle East. Initial appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August 2014. Evidence of strong scholarship required.  Ph.D. preferred; however, A.B.D.’s may apply at the level of Instructor. The candidate will be expected to teach World Music and Introduction to Music, as well as an additional course in a secondary specialty. Applicants should send a letter of interest, curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation, recent publications and working papers to Stewart Carter, Chair, Department of Music, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC 27109. Review of applications will begin October 23, 2013, and continue until the position is filled.
