The Department of Psychology at Wake Forest University

 

  • values, respects, and celebrates the experiences, beliefs, and practices stemming from varied cultures and circumstances (emphasizing, but not limited to, those from historically underrepresented groups), and our deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion plays out through coursework, programming by majors, and research.
  • stresses both the commitment to classroom teaching characteristic of the liberal arts college and the commitment to scholarship characteristic of the research university
  • offers a rigorous undergraduate curriculum in psychology that emphasizes the scientific foundations of psychology, as well as a research-oriented master’s program designed specifically to prepare students for doctoral work
  • currently has 19 full-time and 7 part-time faculty members whose areas of expertise span the full range of psychological science
  • is housed in Greene Hall–a state-of-the-art facility that includes classrooms, research labs, offices, lounges, and study areas; with additional animal research facilities located in Winston Hall
  • teaches courses and conducts research in a wide variety of areas, with special emphasis on Self-Regulation, the Science of Well-Being, and Analysis & Measurement.
