The WFU Department for the Study of Religions presents the 2017 Albritton Lecture

“Black Collectors and Keepers of Tradition: An Ethiopian Pilgrimage and Biblical Scholarship”

Special Guest Speaker Gay Byron, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of New Testament at the Howard University School of Divinity

Tuesday, March 14th @ 5:00 p.m. in the ZSR Auditorium (404). Free and Open to the Public.

Dr. Byron works at the forefront of African American and womanist biblical interpretation and has pioneered study of Ethiopic sources for biblical scholarship. Her lecture will address her recent pilgrimage to Ethiopia, the value of Ethiopian artifacts and manuscripts for biblical studies, and the importance of African American collector, Dr. Andre Reynolds Tweed.
