Visiting Professor of Religion, Leah Kinberg (Tel Aviv University) will explore the contemporary and historic meanings of Jihad as a fundamental religious concept. The termJihad carries vehement arguments with formidable political & social implications.
Dr. Kinberg will analyze Qur’anic Jihad, follow its uses in prophetic statements, and explore its nature as it has changed through the ages to serve the causes of rival groups and situations, showing that it should actually be studied as a reflection of its time.
