Bio
Elaine Swartzentruber holds a Ph.D in Theological Studies and Women’s Studies from the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory University. She previously taught at WFU and most recently at The Center for Religion and Cross Cultural Studies at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Her interests include exploring the intersections between practices of hospitality, gender, non-violence and ethics in Christianity and Islam. Her current writing discusses teaching “world religions” in a post-colonial, multicultural, democratic context.
