The Children’s Home (http://www.tchome.org/index.html) Established in 1909 in conjunction with the United Methodist Church, The Children’s Home is a Winston-Salem-based organization that is committed to helping children and youth in need. The Children’s Home is licensed by the State of North Carolina as a Mental Health Residential Treatment Center, a provider of Mental Health Day Treatment Programs, and a Child Placing Agency for Family Foster Care and Therapeutic Foster Care.
CHANGE (http://changeiaf.org/)Communities Helping All Neighbors Gain Empowerment (CHANGE) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Forsyth County, NC. CHANGE is committed to building a stronger community by developing relationships across racial, ethnic, economic, political, social, and religious lines. CHANGE is not a movement, a protest group, a political action committee, or a service organization. We do not run programs, endorse candidates, or take government money. But what we do is to cultivate the skills of our local leaders by identifying shared concerns and needs so that we may act together for the common good.
Darryl Hunt Project for Freedom and Justice
Based in Winston-Salem, the Darryl Hunt Project is a not-for-profit organization with three primary goals:
1) To provide assistance to individuals who have been wrongfully incarcerated.
2) To help ex-offenders obtain the skills, guidance, and support they need as they return to life outside the prison system.
3) To advocate for changes in the justice system so innocent people won’t spend time in prison.
