Summer Bridge Program

Summer Bridge Program

Summer Bridge Student: Byron Goode (’18)

The Wake Forest University Summer Bridge program was designed to aid incoming students with the transition to Wake Forest. The Bridge has a maximum enrollment of 20 students.  Bridge students will take two courses in the second summer session July 7 – August 9, 2014.   One course will be Public Speaking (COM 110).  The other course is Foundations in Academic Research and Writing (ENG 107), taught by Writing Center Director Ryan Shirey.  These courses will give you 6 semester hours at Wake Forest and the selected courses may also fulfill divisional course requirements.  You will get a jump ahead of other students!

Beyond coursework, you will also be able to ease your adjustment to Wake Forest.  Over the course of the summer you will meet with a wide array of individuals across the university.  You will have a mini-course in the library, become acquainted with offices across campus including the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Office of Personal and Career Development, and the Office of International Studies, to name a few.  You will meet the Dean of the College, the Dean of the undergraduate Business School, the Pre-Medical advisor as well as representatives from the Wake Forest University School of Law.  You will be an expert on Wake Forest the first day of your freshmen year!

This is a great way to get started at Wake Forest! With a couple of classes under your belt and an introduction to virtually everything, you will be a super freshman!
