Catherine E. Harnois joined the Department of Sociology at Wake Forest as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2006. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut (2000) and her M.A and Ph.D. (2005) at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Her work has appeared in the journals Ethnic and Racial Studies, Gender & Society, the National Women’s Studies Association Journal, and Sociological Forum, in addition to other scholarly outlets. Her book, Feminist Measures in Survey Research, has just been published with Sage. 

Dr. Harnois regularly teaches “Sociology of Gender” and “Social Statistics,” and while at Wake Forest has also taught courses on the Women’s Movement, Contemporary Families, and Social Problems.
